Kindly keep to your scheduled appointment time. Please note that online orders (Method 1) may take up to 2 weeks for delivery. Students affected by this delay will be excused from bringing their books to school until then.

Section C - School Attire and General Appearance
Students are to wear either the First or Second Uniform as illustrated in the photos above. PE attire is to be worn only during PE lessons.
Students are required to wear either white or black socks.
There are two options for shoes

White/black canvas school shoes or
-
Sports shoes which are white, black, blue or grey, or a combination of these colours.
There should be no neon colour on any part of the shoes and no large/fanciful logos or designs.

Section D - Purchase of Uniform
It is recommended to buy at least 2 shirts or blouses, 3 pairs of shorts or skirts and 2 sets of PE attire.

Section E - Personalised Digital Learning Programme (PDLP)
The use of Personal Learning Devices (PLD) for teaching and learning enhances digital literacy skills and fosters self-directed and collaborative learning in our students. The school will provide more details to parents in mid-January 2026, on the process of purchasing a PLD.
Section F - 2026 Sec 1 Orientation Programme
Sec 1 students are to report in their First uniform (see Section C) on the first day of school, Friday, 2 January 2026. Should there be delays in delivery of uniform due to the festive season, students may report to school in their Primary School uniform during the Orientation Programme.

From Thursday, 8 January onwards, school dismissal times will be as follows:
a) Mondays: 2.50 pm
b) Tuesdays to Thursdays: 2 pm
c) Fridays: 12.40 pm
Sec 1 students would be informed of their form class and classroom venue by Tuesday, 30 December 2025, via Parents Gateway. They will also receive their timetable in the first week of school. They are required to bring stationery and water bottle daily during the Orientation Programme (they are not required to bring textbooks during the Programme).
All students are strongly encouraged to have breakfast before attending school each day.

Parents will learn about how to better support their children as they transit to secondary school, CCA participation, school-based assessment, and purchase of personal learning devices. Parents can also interact with form teachers. Parents will receive an invitation to register for the session through Parents Gateway on 30 Dec. |

Section H - Eligibility to Take Subject(s) at a More Demanding Level under Full Subject-Based Banding
(Applicable for students whose indicative level for most subjects are G1 or G2)
Students may choose to offer English Language, Mother Tongue Language, Mathematics, and Science at a more demanding level at the start of Secondary 1 if they meet the eligibility criteria. You can refer to more information about Full Subject-Based Banding here.

Parents/Guardians of students who meet the eligibility criteria will be notified via Parents Gateway (PG) by Friday, 19 December 2025. Parents should indicate whether they will accept or reject the offer via PG* by Friday, 26 December 2025. Please take care to order/purchase the learning materials for the corresponding subject level (i.e. G3 or G2) your child will be studying.
*Parents who are not onboarded to PG will be contacted via email
Section I - Eligibility for Higher Mother Tongue Languages (HMTL)
With effect from 2026, students who meet either of the following criteria will be eligible to apply for HMTL:
a. Achievement of AL1 or AL2 in their PSLE Mother Tongue Language; or
b. Attainment of Distinction or Merit in their HMTL examination.
Parents/Guardians of eligible students will be notified via Parents Gateway (PG) or email by Friday, 19 December 2025. Students who opt to study Higher Malay Language and Higher Tamil Language will do so at MOE-designated Higher Mother Tongue Language centres.
An online engagement session for further clarification on HMTL matters will be held on Monday, 22 December at 9 am. The online meeting link will be shared with parents of eligible students via Parents Gateway on Friday, 19 December.
Parents/Guardians are required to indicate their acceptance via PG, for their child/ward to undertake HMTL, by Tuesday, 23 December 2025, 5 pm. Please note that late submissions will not be accepted.

Section J - Books and Uniform for Sec 1 students on FAS
Category 1: MOE FAS Approved by Primary Schools
Parents/Guardians of Sec 1 students whose MOE Financial Assistance Scheme (MOEFAS) applications have been approved by their Primary Schools are to make an appointment to collect their books and uniform on-site in Serangoon Garden Secondary School (SGS) via the appointment link below.
On the day of your appointment, please go to the General Office with your Primary School MOE FAS approval letter to collect the SGS MOE FAS letter before making your way to the bookshop or uniform shop for collection. Please do not purchase the books and/or uniforms before collecting the MOEFAS approval letter.

Category 2: New MOE FAS applicants
