Information on DSA Application.
SERANGOON GARDEN SECONDARY SCHOOL 2025 DIRECT SCHOOL ADMISSION (DSA-SEC) FOR ADMISSION TO SECONDARY ONE IN 2027
Under the DSA-Sec exercise, SGS will be offering Primary 6 students who fulfil specific criteria for the following areas of strength:
Nurturing Confident and Compassionate Leaders through CCA, which is our school’s distinctive Learning for Life Programme (LLP).
Providing opportunities for students who have recognised talents and achievements in Sports, Performing Arts, and Clubs and Societies.

2 | DSA (Performing Arts) Aesthetically talented students to join our Performing Arts Groups - Choir - Concert Band - Guzheng Ensemble - Modern Dance | Students who demonstrate outstanding achievements in Performing Arts. Additional Criteria: 1. Formal training in the Performing Arts. 2. Obtain a Conduct Grade of ‘Good’ or better in Primary 5 (overall) and Primary 6 (mid-Year). 3. Achievement in National Competitions/ accomplishment at National level will be preferred. 4. Leadership appointment in Primary School will be preferred. |
3 | DSA (Clubs and Societies) Talented students to join our Clubs and Societies - Robotics | Students who demonstrate outstanding achievements in Robotics. Additional Criteria: 1. Formal training in the Robotics. 2. Obtain a Conduct Grade of ‘Good’ or better in Primary 5 (overall) and Primary 6 (mid-Year). 3. Achievement in National Competitions/ accomplishment at National level will be preferred. 4. Leadership appointment in Primary School will be preferred. |
General Procedure and Time Schedule

6 May 2026 11am | Application Opens Application for DSA-Sec can be submitted through the online DSA-Sec Portal. The application is free-of-charge and will be open from 6 May 2026, 11am to 2 Jun 2026, 4.30pm. For more details, please refer to MOE website – www.moe.gov.sg/dsa-sec (opens in new tab). a. Accessing the DSA Portal i. Applicants from MOE mainstream primary schools: Parent may log in directly to DSA-Sec Portal. Only one parent’s Singpass is required. Parents/ guardians who are unable to apply online can approach their child’s primary school for assistance. ii. Other applicants not studying in MOE mainstream primary schools: Parents need to apply for a Registration Number (RGxxxxxxx) to access the DSA-Sec Portal. More information can be found on the MOE DSA website at: https://go.gov.sg/nmsdsa-sec-application (opens in new tab). b. Choices Students can indicate up to three choices (maximum of two choices for the same school under two different talent areas).
Note: Parents and students are encouraged to choose schools wisely based on the student’s aptitudes and strengths, bearing in mind the school’s academic and non-academic requirements, and the programmes available to develop the area of talent. Students who meet all the criteria does not guarantee that the student will be shortlisted or given an offer. Applicants who do not have prior experience may also apply. The school will assess applicants based on the selection criteria, which may include assessing the potential of the applicants. Students who are successfully admitted to the school via DSA are required to honour their commitment to the school and participate in the activities related to the talent they are selected for from year 1 to 4. |

SELECTION STAGE | |
From 29 June 2026 | Only shortlisted applicants will be informed, through email or phone call, for in-person selection session at the secondary school. Applicants will receive notification from school by 17 July 2026, if they have been shortlisted to undergo DSA selection. Please note that meeting all the criteria does not guarantee that the student would be shortlisted/ given an offer. |
30 June to 17 August 2026 | School-based in-person selection at the secondary school shortlisted applicants. All applicants are to come in their primary school uniform. Do note that parents will not be allowed in the interview session. |
17 August to 28 August 2026 | All applicants will be notified of the outcome of their applications. |
SCHOOL PREFERENCE SUBMISSION STAGE | |
19 October 2026 | Applicants with CO or WL offer will receive School Preference Form. Students who receive at least one DSA-Sec offer (including from SOTA) will receive email and SMS notification via Postman.gov.sg (opens in new tab) on the School Preference Submission around mid-Oct 2026. Both parents are required to login to the DSA-Sec Portal using their Singpass to submit up to three school preferences. If parent(s) are unable to submit online, they can approach their child’s primary school for assistance to submit the school preferences on their behalf. Some students may receive offers from DSA-Sec schools and SSP. Students who wish to accept the SSP offer should not submit their DSA-Sec school preferences. If they do so, their earlier SSP offer will be voided. Students who wish to accept the SSP offer will need to take part in the S1 Posting. |
23 October 2026 | School Preference Submission closes. DSA-Sec offers not taken up will be considered as lapsed if applicants do not submit their school preference. |
RESULTS RELEASE STAGE | |
By late November 2026 | Release of DSA-Sec results together with PSLE results through Primary Schools. |
About Direct School Admission (DSA-Sec)
Under the Direct School Admission Secondary (DSA-Sec) exercise, secondary schools may offer Secondary 1 places to suitable primary students earlier, using school-based criteria other than PSLE results. These criteria are schools-based and seek to allow a greater range of student achievements and talents to be recognised.
Students successfully allocated to their DSA-Schools will NOT be allowed to participate in the annual S1 Posting Exercise to opt for secondary schools, and are required to honour the commitment to the allocated DSA-Sec school and participate in the activities related to the talent they are selected for from year 1-4.
They will also NOT be allowed to transfer to another school after the release of the PSLE results.
