National Police Cadet Corps

The mission of the National Police Cadet Corps is to develop our cadets into active citizens and community leaders who are morally upright and law-abiding, by working in partnership with Singapore Police Force. Values such as integrity, resilience and selflessness are inculcated in our cadets through various programmes that teach them to contribute to the safety and security of our community.

Through challenging situations, cadets hone their leadership qualities, develop respect for their seniors and strengthen camaraderie with their peers. While the SGS NPCC unit has achieved many prestigious awards over the year, what's most rewarding is seeing the cadets grow into confident young men and women, and develop into leaders of the school and community.

Along Officer Commanding (OC) Mr. Joel Yow, our Unit is also ably supported by the following Teacher-Officers in charge of the various squad levels - Mr. Peh Chin Keong, Mr. Fareeq Othman and Ms Valence Leung.

Key Programmes

In order to inculcate the fundamental values of discipline, resilience, and respect in our caders, our core programs for unit training include foot drills, campcraft, and physical tranining.

In addition to that, the caders also embark on host of enriching and engaging activities, organized either by the unit or by NPCC HQ. Through the curriculum, they undergo experiences that equip them with the knowledge and skills of a confident leader and active citizen.

For our Sec 1 cadets, there is a strong focus on knowledge building, going through modules on crime prevention, police procedures, and road safety (among others). Our Sec 2 and 3 cadets also go through a range of activities to hone their outdoor adventure skills alongside their police knowledge. Both Sec 2 and Sec 3 cadets will get to experience.22 Revolver Shooting and Crime Scene Investigation courses. Sec 2 cadets will also get to attend an overnight camp at Camp Resilience (Pulau Ubin), while they will be applying their orienteering, outdoor cooking, and survival skills in real-life context, and get to interact with cadets from other schools.

In terms of Value-In-Action projects, our cadets are actively involved at all levels of the community, through NPCC's Crime Prevention (Sec 1), Community Safety & Security Programme (Sec 2), and Police Youth Ambassador (Sec 3) courses respectively. Through these programs, cadets are typically tasked to ideate and organise an action plan to serve their home community, school community, and neighbourhood.
